Virtual STEM Activities For Kids

With everything going on, KodeConnect wanted to continue to support the community with some fun activities your kids can do related to STEM while many of them are home. Beginning today, we’ll send along some of our favorites here at KodeConnect so that we can help keep the appetite for learning and innovating filled.

Today let’s start with a mega list from Kids Activities Blog. This is a list of education companies offering free subscriptions. From this list, we wanted to highlight a few of our favorites:

  1. VidCode: We love VidCode here at KodeConnect because of how easy it is to use. They have great, ready made projects for youth to jump right in (e.g. MapYourCommunity and Creating Your Own Typeface) (link: https://about.vidcode.com/hour-of-code)

  2. MineCraft Education Edition: While MineCraft use has gone down the past few years, you can still use it for educational purposes! Using Microsoft Agent, have your youth spend a hour coding to collect data about forest fires. Learn coding basics and explore a real-world example of artificial intelligence. 3. 50 Science Activities: Science games and activities provide exciting ways to learn about how the world works. And if you’re wondering how to make learning science fun, the answer is through games, of course! Science is all about observation and experimentation. Add in a game element and your kid is sure to have fun while learning about science! Check out this list 50 science games in the areas of natural science, social science, and computer science.
